Some of my early efforts at working with the bees are shown here.

This work was installed in an abandoned house as part of Rooms to Let II, curated by Melissa Vogley Woods in Columbus Ohio.

This work (also shown installed) was one of the first objects I got from the bees.

Early attempts to get the bees to build on objects involved creating objects in the hot shop at The Ohio State University with Linda Diec and adding strategic wax. The bees, however, rejected glass as a material and would only occupy the space long enough to care for the brood we placed there.

I also attempted to have the bees build on a taxidermy alligator head, however, they largely ignored the wax and instead began to fill the teeth and eyes with propolis.
