Through my interest in the environment I began to think about the idealized landscape in the Western art tradition and what it meant to me as an artist now. I came to realize that for the majority of modern urban dwellers, the landscape is experienced as snippets and flashes of recognizable forms through the window of a speeding car, for example. My explorations of the landscape focus on the accumulation of minutiae, of small moments.
