Plastic bubbles in a found bird's nest echo the plastic found in nests and bird stomachs on Midway Island, in the remotest part of the Pacific. Baby birds die because the parents pick plastic to feed them out of the Great Pacific Gyre, where the world's plastic collects and breaks down into smaller and smaller bite-sized pieces.
