Toward Obliteration
In Towards Obliteration, nature has the symbolic opportunity to fight back, as bees obscure the images of human architecture with their own organic construction. The laser cut imagery depicts environmental threats to both bees and humans on multiple layers. This project is an experiment with a living system. My intention is that the bees are able to fabricate their home around ours, dominating the view of visual cacophony with the organic structure of their own home. I will attempt again next season to get the space filled with comb. My collaborator in this project was Daniel Jarvis.
