What Remains
"What Remains" is an installation made from post-consumer waste, the scraps from an industrial felt from which large circles were punched. Coiling the outer, scalloped edge into a variety of nest-like forms, I created an environment wihin which people could lie and play. The interior portion of the scrap was used to create a hanging mobile above. The installation both encourages a creative reuse of something that otherwise would end up in a landfill and begs the question: at what point will we be forced to nest in our own industrial waste?
